Union Square is all aglow for Christmas so we decided it was time for our annual family trip!
The skating rink is bustling...we'll get you out there one year soon Kellan, we promise!
The festive Christmas tree is well.....TALL says a two year old
And its glitter makes you giggle and skip with glee
Until you realize that it's about time to make the excruciating pilgrimage to the North Pole i.e. Macy's to sit on Santa's lap for the annual cheesy picture for the amusement of the parents.
It was Makenna's first year and she played by the rules like a seasoned veteran sitting calmly and sweetly on Santa's lap...big brother Kellan, on the other hand, was decidedly more skeptical about sitting and posing with the strange white bearded man.
After some quick talking and maybe a cheap bribe Kellan decided that he could appease mom and dad while still playing by his rules which was to stand guard behind Claus instead of sitting on his lap which gave him an out in case he needed to make a mad dash stage right.
Hilarious - no?! And check out his facial expression? Full of holiday cheer!
Now it was time for solo shots and once again Makenna, the angel, posed politely in Laney's dress (thanks Laney!!!)...
which made Kellan think twice as he was hardly going to let his baby sister show him up so easily so he made the heroic decision to stand in front of the bearded man like a brave warrior!!!
When asked what he wanted for Christmas this year he said "ice cream cone and choo choo trains!" Fat chance after that performance...which i think he realized on his way out as he turned around, looked Claus in the eye and said HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
